![]() ![]() Registered Member #20 Joined: Thu Sep 10 2009, 12:26PMPosts: 7 | These are to the number predictions that I have for the season. Obviously I'm probably missing an upset or two in here, but these work out to 512 total games, even games for every team against every division. If I have anything to say about the division, I'll include it below! Thanks for reading (it's long so I understand if you don't xP). The division's are in order of first in the division to last in the division below: AFC East New England Cheaters - 11 & 5 Miami Dolphins - 6 & 10 Buffalo Bills - 6 & 10 New York Jets - 5 & 11 At first look this division seems very tough and like it could make a push, but if you look at the schedules and the situations, I think you'll see where I'm coming from. Obviously Miami can make a claim for 10 wins considering last year's push, but here is what you have to remember: Pennington is old with bum shoulders. It's just a matter of time before that Rex Ryan defense that he has to play twice a year puts him on the sidelines. The only reason NE doesn't go 13-3 is because of the shaky play of the offensive line and 6 new starters on defense. My inner mind tells me: Brady throws for 33TDs, Pennington is done by week 7 & Henne starts but look for Ginn Jr. (950yds 7tds) and Camarillo (775yds 9tds) to start to form a great tandem, , T.O. is team suspended by week 12 and Head Coach Jauron will be GONE at season's end, Sanchez has a decent rookie year but Lito is benched by week 5 and that running game struggles due to turmoil and injuries to Shonn Greene. AFC North Pittsburgh Steelers - 13 & 3 B-more Ravens - 11 & 5 Cincinnati Criminals - 9 & 7 Cleveland "I wish Jim Brown was still around" Browns - 2 & 14 Pittsburgh has to be beaten for me to change my mind on this. Defending champs, great coach, clutch QB, depth at every position, and I do mean every. Championship caliber franchise should continue success. The Ravens are so close to making a run at this division, even with time closing on the Ray Lewis era, but they just haven't gotten Flacco enough help. L.J. Smith is a joke, and Todd Heap has been irrelevant for 3 years now. Ray Rice is the bright spot, and that defense obviously will bring it, but in the end, their receivers are too short (pun intended). My inner mind tells me: I think Chris Henry will light it up with Palmer this year and OchoCinco will settle in too a nice supporting roll (yes, I do believe this!). They had a top 10 defense last year, and there is no doubt in my mind they will continue to improve. This is a team that could go 10-6 if their offensive line comes around fast. As far as Cleveland, I think Edwards and Robiskie have good years as well as James Davis and Quinn should be decent, but that defense is suspect, they let Jones leave in free agency, and the offensive line is questionable at best. I think Mangini is an idiot and I don't think he can fix this situation. Way to go Man-moron. AFC South Indianapolis Colts - 12 & 4 Tenn. Titans - 11 & 5 Houston Texans - 10 & 6 Jacksonville Jaguars - 9 & 7 Two years ago this division was considered the first or second best (depending on who you talked to) in all of football right along with the NFC East. Hell, those two divisions would beat themselves up so bad they had nothing left come playoff time. Last year, everything slipped off a bit with the Jags, and Houston finished 8-8 again. I think this year this division comes back to prominence. The only reason I don't think the Jags get to 10 wins is I think the left side of their offensive line is weak and they are prone to losing one or two easy win games every season. My inner mind tells me: Look for Garrard to return to the form that he was in two seasons ago when he took over for Leftwich, especially with Troy Williamson running fly routes and MJD being the main man, Peyton dominates, period, and with the additions of Donald Brown, Addai's injury prone nature no longer matters, Gonzalez should put up big numbers (1200yds, 9TD's) as well as Reggie Wayne (1400yds, 13TD's) and Clark (700yds, 8TD's) as Peyton pushes the 30TD mark again, look for Lendale White and Chris Johnson to both have huge yardage years, and let's see if Kenny Britt can emerge, Schaub will go over 4500 yards / 30 TD's and AJ will have his best year yet (1600yds, 15TD's), look for Owen Daniel's to emerge as a premier TE in a contract year (800yds, 6TD's) as the Texans finally break .500. Slaton is a monster! Tra Thomas will be sat by mid season and the Jags will have to scramble to pick up a young LT to replace him. AFC West San Diego Super Chargers! - 14 & 2 (best record in the AFC & NFL) Oakland Raiders - 6 & 10 Kansas City Chiefs - 2 & 14 Denver Broncos - 2 & 14 This is the most dismal division in football next to the NFC West, and the only reason it isn't worse is because there is allot of individual talent here. First, the Broncos. How dumb are you to get rid of Jay Cutler when he is young and just coming into his prime. Seriously? Kyle Orton? Chris Simms? Look, none, and I do mean NONE of the Hoodie's protégé's have ever done SHIT in the NFL, and this clown won't be any different. Orton only won games because Chi-town had SOME defense in them still. Simms almost died last time he started. Marshall is unhappy, and the only thing saving this team at all is that running game (that McDaniel's will destroy by taking away the zone blocking scheme) and Eddie Royal. As far as the Chiefs, I don't know if Cassel can stay healthy. If he can't, then they are right back to Thigpen, who is a decent QB, but won't win them tons of games. That D is still suspect, and so is the O-Line. They got rid of Gonzalez, and LJ is over-the-hill and done after getting destroyed by Herm. Bowe is a monster and will put up great numbers considering the situation (1200yds/11tds) but with the schedule they have to play and the team looking how it is, yuck. The Raiders should be OK. They have had a great rushing offense and McFadden is another year better. I think Heyward-Bey will be proving a few people wrong after the Crabtree fiasco in San Fran, and Louis Murphy should come into his own. I think Russel has a way better chance of succeeding in this league than Young ever did, and even though I'd love to throw Al Davis in the looney bin (seriously with the Seymour trade?) I think they will do enough (and they play in an AWFUL division) to at least improve on some of the success they have had. The Chargers have the best situation in football. They should sweep their division, and the only two games I see them losing are too the Steelers and the Giants, teams with great defenses and supporting run games. My inner mind tells me: The only way they falter is if Merriman faces a long suspension, and they may drop to 11&5 and lose to the Pats & Eagles, and drop a game to a West foe late by some random ass chance. Look for Rivers to put up 30+TD's again and Tomlinson to go over 1200yds for the last time in his career. VJax should hit 1300yds 13TDs this year to prove his legitimate #1 status. NFC East New York Football Giants - 12 & 4 Philadelphia Eagles - 12 & 4 Dallas Cowgirls - 10 & 6 Washington Hogs - 8 & 8 Outside of the AFC South there isn't a tougher division in football, and this year will be no different. Most likely taking both wild card spots again (would be 3 times out of the last 4 years) and having four EXTREMELY good defenses, these teams will be lucky to make it to the playoffs without a few injured players. The Giants will take the tie break for better division record by sweeping the Redskins, otherwise the division is pretty even. The big question will be whether or not McNabb and Westbrook can stay healthy and Philadelphia and of course whether Nicks can step up and fill the #1 void left by Plax in NYG. My inner mind tells me: That Nicks will have a good year, putting up moderate numbers (750yds 6TDs) with Smith around the same (700yds 5TDs) and Barden posting the red zone threat (325yds 7TDs) in double TE sets and goal line fades. Bradshaw will eventually take over for Jacob's due to injury, and I think Jacob's will go back to his original roll when Tiki was around (short yardage, finisher like Marion Barber). Look for Bradshaw to post some sick numbers (1300yds/450recyds/14totalTD's). I think Roy Williams will post some good numbers in replacement of Team Obliterator (1100yds/11TD's) while Witten takes over the #1 TE spot in the NFL (950yds/10TD's) since Romo has man-sex with him. Watch Felix Jones break out this year (1200yds/350recyds/11totalTD's). Look for Fraction Jackson to put up solid numbers as he works to get paid more than Maclin (1150Yds, 8TD's) and look for Jason Avant (650yds, 5TD's), Maclin (575yds, 3TD's), Baskett (425yds, 6TD's) and Celek (575yds, 8TD's) to help McNabb pass for over 30TD's for the second time in his career. By the end of the season, Washington will have officially ruined Campbell's career in DC and I think Zorn will be gone, or at least put on the HOT seat. NFC North Green Bay Packers - 13 & 3 Chicago Bears - 7 & 9 Minnesota Vikings - 6 & 10 Detroit Lions - 5 & 11 Everyone else claims this will be a powerhouse division, and personally, I think the talent is there with Cutler there now to be one, but I don't think it will pan out that way. The Packers are poised to run away with this, and Rodgers should continue the year of the QB (circa 2004) by having a career year (try 5050yds, 39TDs) that will run Favre back home to his family. That offensive line and Grant look poised to start running the ball (1200yds/500recyds/14totaltds) and Jennings should be a monster after getting his huge contract (1400yds/14tds). Cutler will have a fine year, and I think the sleeper in this division is Earl Bennet, Cutler's old roommate, who is #1 on the depth chart ahead of Hester. Look for a solid 1100yd/10td season out of him and watch for Olsen to put up some numbers. The problem is, I think Chicago's defense has finally left them. They are old, already hurting, and scaring no one anymore. The Vikings were a favorite of mine when it was Jackson most likely starting. I feel the Vikings will be fine out of the chute, but age, and what sounds like the lack of desire to play, will eventually shut Favre down. My inner mind tells me: By week 8, the Williams wall should be serving a 4 game suspension, and if the Vikings are smart they will make sure Childress does not run Peterson anywhere NEAR that dreaded 370 number. (look for a solid 1550yds/16tds from Peterson in his 3rd year). Detroit will make some strides with a good system and coaching unit from GM down now in place. Don't forget they have one of the best WR's in the league (1300yds/15TDs) and one of the more underrated backs (1100yds/375recyds/12totaltds) but that defense is still suspect and so is the O-line. NFC South New Orleans Saints - 10 & 6 Carolina Panthers - 8 & 8 Atlanta Falcons - 7 & 9 Tampa Bay Puccaneers - 2 & 14 Face it, the Saints offense is dominate, the defense doesn't scare anyone. Brees should finally break Marino's records (5200yds/38tds) and that offense should run through Lance Moore (1300yds/11tds) instead of Colston (1100yds/9tds). Remember, the worst has become the best in the NFC south a few years in a row. The catch to that history to me is the Panthers staying at .500. The run game is too good, their secondary is still fantastic, and I think their defensive line is hungry. Delhomme will commit tons of mistakes, but Steve Smith should continue his impressive career (1150yds/9tds). I love Matty Ice, I really do, but the league now has tape on him. Roddy White should continue to impress (1200yds/11tds) but look for Turner to suffer the same 370+ carry fate almost every back in history has faced (with the exception of LT2 who took 2 years to let it catch up) by midseason. That defense is young and being rebuilt in the secondary, and I think they will take a small step back this season considering the schedule. The Bucs are in complete rebuild, they don't seem to know what they are doing right now, and they have a very tough schedule. The secondary is old (Barber) and in jail (or will be suspended), and aside from their super middle linebacker, their LB corp looks weak this year. The offensive line and run game should be OK, but it will suffer from tons of 8 man fronts. I don't care how good Bryant (900yds/7tds) and Winslow (400yds/8tds) are, if Leftwich can't stay up right or get the ball to them, they won't do anything. My inner mind tells me: Josh Freeman or Josh Johnson will be starting in Tampa Bay by week 9, where the Bucs will be 0-7 after losing to all four of the NFC East teams (seriously, their opening schedule is brutal, they could sneak one against the Bills). Raheem Morris will be lucky to keep his job as the Glaziers don't like to lose. Bush will be proven a bust this year, and resorted to change-of-pace and kick return duties. Pierre Thomas (starting week2) will become a stud (1100yds/600recyds/21totaltds). Look for Jake Delhomme to un-earn his big contract, and for Jonathan Steward to steal carries more and more down the stretch from D. Williams. NFC West Seattle Seahawks - 9 & 7 San Fran 49ers - 8 & 8 Cardinals - 5 & 11 St. Louis Rams - 1 & 15 (worst in the NFC / NFL) Look for Hasselbeck to survive the tough schedule, have a decent year (3400yds/21tds) and earn a spot in Jim Mora Jr.'s MyFaves for saving what could have been a disastrous year. I like the Housh pick up (1050yds/11tds) and I think Burleson will continue where he left off last year (850yds/7tds). The biggest thing to watch is that defense. Mike Singletary will bring an attitude to this team, and I think they will be in ALLOT of games, but I don't think they can overcome their schedule. There just isn't enough firepower on that team, and I don't think that Crabtree will play this year at all. Look, Fantasy Pundits, Fitz(1200yds/13tds) and Boldin(1000yds/10tds) will have great years no matter who throws them the ball, so don't worry about the fact that they are coming off a Superbowl loss which tends to curse every team over the last decade. Kurt Warner has been there and done that, and I think this time it will be his career. By week 5 he's done, Lienart era begins, and Wizard takes a small step back. I believe they have a good team and good defense started there, but losing that Superbowl will be the worst thing to happen to them. If the curse got Brady, I have 0 faith it won't get Warner. My inner mind tells me: By the end of the season Spags will be wishing he stayed in NY. I believe he will turn this team around, but it will take 2 more seasons of heavy drafting and building and they need a QB as Bulger has taken too many beatings.
